Get to know the Microsimulation library
Learn about the Microsimulation Library
This is an admin only feature.
The Microsimulation library is the home for all your simulation content. It replaces the old Microsimulations experience and brings your single player and multiplayer templates together in one place, so you build and manage everything from one screen. Use the links below to jump to a section:

Creating and Collaborating on a Microsimulation Template
What is the Microsimulation Library?
The Microsimulation Library contains Microsimulation Templates, not live simulations. To run a Microsimulation, you activate it into a deployment.
Editing a template never changes a simulation that's already running.
Where is the Microsimulation Library?
- Login to your iluminr account, and click the Microsimulations option in the navigation menu.
- Select My Microsimulations from the options available.
- This will take you to the Microsimulation Library, for both single player and multiplayer Microsimulation content.

Changing your Microsimulation Library view
- Card view — each simulation as a card with its cover, title, a Single Player or Multiplayer label, and its status.
- List view — better when you have a lot: it shows when each was last modified, its owner, collaborators, and status at a glance.
How can I search and filter My Microsimulations library?
Switch with the view toggle, and use search to jump to a simulation by name.
Filter by type (single or multiplayer) and status (Ready or Draft) to narrow a long list. More filters are on the way.
Understanding the Microsimulation Template Status Labels
Every simulation has a status of:
- Draft — still being built; can't be deployed yet.
- Ready — published and available to add to a deployment.
Only Ready simulations will appear when you go to add a microsim to a deployment.
Managing a Microsimulation Template
From a card's ⋯ menu you can Edit, Duplicate, or Delete.
- Duplicate is the fastest way to spin a variation off a scenario that already works.
- Collaborators & permissions — control who can access each simulation. When editing, invite people as Contributors (can edit) or Reviewers (view only) — individuals, roles, or teams.
- Version control — when you update a live, Ready simulation, the change is versioned so you can see what changed and when.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Why can't I deploy my simulation?
It's probably still a Draft. Only Ready simulations can be added to a deployment — open it and mark it Ready to deploy.
Will editing a template change a running simulation?
No. Templates and deployments are separate; a live deployment keeps the version it launched with.
Where did my historical Multiplayer Microsimulations go?
Existing and imported simulations live in the Archive. Bring the ones you still use into the new framework from there.
