Get to know Voice Call communications

An additional channel that is available for notifications which will convert your written message to a Voice Call

The iluminr voice call channel provides an additional way for you to deliver your notifications to recipients via a phone call and the content of your message will be read out to them.

How can I send a Voice Call message?

Message Type Broadcast, Response Required set to Y (yes) 

Voice Call will now be available to select when confirming Channels of delivery in your new notification.

What will be converted to Speech

The content in the Message Body will be converted from Text To Speech and will be read out to your recipient when they answer the call (or left as a voicemail)

In the Incident Update notification above, the recipient would receive the below in their voice call:

"Please be aware of an incident in progress at the Central Office. Adhere to instructions from emergency personnel. Thank you"

Call Status

When a call is successfully attempted it will be reported in the communications dashboard as "Called"

Please note: this is not a confirmation the recipient has answered, however that the call was successfully attempted.

Important considerations

Language

Currently iluminr's Voice Call capability supports English Text - to - Speech. 

Fees:

Phone calls will incur additional charges beyond your iluminr plan. Each call is billed in one-minute increments, with costs calculated based on the number of recipients.

For instance, if a voice call takes 15 seconds to complete and is sent to 10 recipients, the total charge will be for 10 minutes.

Please note that the per-minute rates differ depending on the destination country of your recipients' phone numbers.
