Impact Assessment Scoring

Understand how the Impact Assessment Tool scores Escalation levels

The iluminr Impact Assessment Tool evaluates impact ratings and generates a consolidated escalation level based on the assessments provided by the user in a given situation.

The cumulative score derived from all assessed impact areas will dictate the corresponding escalation level, as outlined in the "escalation levels" within the Impact Assessment settings.

How does each impact get scored?

The total score for all impact categories you define in iluminr is capped at 100.

Example

Consider the following five Impact Categories that you may assess:

- People

- Operations

- Financial

- Legal and Compliance

- Reputational

Each category could be further defined by four Impact Category Levels:

- Low

- Medium

- High

- Severe

Each impact category will have a maximum value of 20 (100 divided by 5)

With 4 impact category levels each level will increase by a value of 5, for example

  • No rating = 0
  • Low = 5
  • Medium = 10
  • High = 15
  • Severe = 20

The assessment process also involves three Escalation Levels, for example:

- Watch and wait (0-25)

- Stay alert (26-50)

- Declare Incident (51-100)

Assessment Example:

If we assess, People as High (15) and Operations as Severe (20)

The total score = 35

Which would land in the "stay alert" escalation level (between 25-50)
